Cebuana Lhuillier Bank (CLB) has been recognized by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) as one of its Outstanding Stakeholders for 2025, cementing its role as a key partner in advancing financial inclusion and economic resilience in the Philippines. The award was formally conferred during the BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony held on 18 July 2025, at the BSP Assembly Hall in Manila.
The annual recognition honors institutions that have made meaningful contributions to the BSP’s strategic objectives, including monetary stability, financial innovation, and inclusive growth. CLB was lauded for its consistent efforts to extend accessible financial services to underserved and remote communities, helping bring more Filipinos into the formal banking system.
“We are deeply honored by this recognition from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. This milestone affirms our unwavering commitment to bring inclusive and accessible banking to every Filipino. What drives us is the vision of a financially empowered nation — where progress is not limited by geography, income, or circumstance. We will continue to lead with innovation, trust, and purpose,” according to Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier.
Jimmy Ang, Officer-in-Charge of Cebuana Lhuillier Bank, accepted the award on behalf of the institution. He dedicated the honor to the entire CLB team and the bank’s growing client base. “This recognition reflects the collective effort of our entire team at CLB. We share this honor with our clients — especially those who have been historically underserved — whose trust and stories fuel our drive to serve better every day,” Ang said.
BSP Governor and Monetary Board Chairman Dr. Eli M. Remolona, Jr. delivered the keynote address during the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of stakeholder collaboration in building a secure and inclusive financial ecosystem.
This latest accolade follows another major recognition Cebuana Lhuillier received earlier this year. In March 2025, the company was cited by the BSP’s NACC-SFISC Stakeholder Appreciation Program for its active participation in promoting financial security and regulatory compliance. Cebuana Lhuillier’s contributions to anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorism financing (CTF), and its role in the Asia Pacific Joint Group Onsite Assessment Activities were also commended.
