THE Department of Health (DOH) launched the first-ever Anti-Vape and Anti-Tobacco Student Council campaign at Eusebio High School in Pasig for a more intensified initiative against the use of vape and cigarettes, especially among the youth.
The council aims to strengthen the peer influence of young people to combat misinformation and deceptive marketing by the tobacco and vape industry.
With the theme “Wag Magpaloko sa Vape at Sigarilyo!,” this is part of the DOH’s health literacy campaign to make all schools in the country vape and tobacco-free.
According to data from the World Health Organization, almost 13 percent of Filipino youth use tobacco, while 14 percent use e-cigarettes.
Various government agencies and civil society groups are supporting the campaign to protect the health of Filipino youth.
