Former Baguio City mayoralty bet nabbed for multiple estafa complaints

THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested a former mayoralty candidate of Baguio City for charges of multiple estafa (falsification of documents).

The arrested former mayoralty candidate was identified as Mark Andrew Directo, according to NBI Director Jaime Santiago.

Based on said complaint, the NBI said Directo was accused of pretending to own several condominium buildings and villas in the Clark Freeport Zone and Baguio City that he would sell to raise funds for the campaign.

He allegedly promised the complainants a share of the profits from several of his projects in the Clark Freeport Zone and Baguio City in exchange for funding his mayoralty bid.

The NBI added there is also an arrest warrant against Directo issued by the Baguio City RTC, also for an estafa case.
