THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) reported that it was able to intercept at the Port of Clark a total of P7.56-million worth of suspected “shabu” said to be hidden in vacuum cleaners and rice cookers.
According to the BOC, the cargo arrived last May 6, 2025 and originated from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was supposed to be brought to Bacoor, Cavite.
After undergoing X-ray inspection, it was discovered that a total of 1,112 grams of shabu were placed in 26 plastic bags—14 bags inside a vacuum cleaner (538 grams worth P3.6 million) and 12 inside a rice cooker (574 grams, P3.9 million).
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confirmed that the white crystalline substance is Methamphetamine Hydrochloride, or “shabu” in street parlance.
