THE Manila Police District (MPD) is already laying down the groundwork for the security measures to be implemented prior to and after the elections on Monday, May 12.
The MPD, led by its Director, Police Brig. Gen. Benigno Guzman, already met with school officials from Araullo High School and Comelec – National Capital Region (NCR) personnel.
Araullo High School is just one of several areas where voting will be held in 20 polling precincts.
Together with personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection-Manila and the Philippine Coast Guard, Guzman wants to ensure that there will be no problems, and the elections will end peacefully.
The MPD assures that there will be no problems, from getting the ballots from the City Treasurer’s Office and other election paraphernalia.
On the day of the elections itself, the MPD will deploy enough personnel, wherein every teacher who are members of the Board of Election Inspectors will leave the school premises after the elections, and will be escorted by MPD personnel to ensure their safety and security.
Guzman also assured that the MPD will guard the election returns to avoid any untoward incidents.
