PRO3 launches Media Action Center, conducts COMEX ahead of 2025 midterm elections

Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — As part of ongoing preparations for the 2025 Midterm Elections, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) officially launched its Media Action Center (MAC) during a press briefing held yesterday. The MAC will serve as the main information hub for election-related updates and will work in coordination with PRO3’s Regional Election Monitoring Action Center (REMAC).

The activity was spearheaded by PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN Jean S. Fajardo and attended by representatives from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and media personnel from various provinces across Central Luzon.

A highlight of the event was the Communication Exercise (COMEX), a simulation designed to test the readiness, responsiveness, and coordination of police units in handling election-related incidents. The exercise evaluated communication protocols between the PRO3 Command Center, provincial and city police offices, and field units using various communication platforms. The results will guide improvements in the region’s command and control systems.

PBGEN Fajardo emphasized, “COMEX is crucial to ensure our police force can respond swiftly, efficiently, and in an organized manner to any incident that may affect the orderly conduct of elections. It is a key measure of our operational readiness.”

She also underscored the role of the newly launched MAC as a vital bridge between the Philippine National Police and the media to ensure the timely and accurate dissemination of information. Meanwhile, the REMAC will remain the central reporting and monitoring hub for election security updates.

Representatives from COMELEC and the media expressed full support for PRO3’s initiatives and committed to working together to ensure a peaceful, orderly, and credible election.
