THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has already started the deployment of the first batch of 7.5 million official printed ballots for use in the National Capital Region (NCR) for the May 12, 2025 mid-elections.
Comelec Chairman George Garcia said the ballots will be delivered Tuesday to the Office of the Treasurer of the cities of Caloocan, Marikina, Valenzuela, Pasig, Quezon City, Muntinlupa, Taguig, Manila, Makati, Malabon, Navotas and San Juan.
The ballots will then be collected by members of the Election Registration Board (ERB).
The poll body then invited political parties, candidates, special interest groups, and citizens’ arms to send their representatives to the Office of the Treasurer in the cities mentioned for them to see where the ballots will be stored.
Meanwhile, the Comelec already completed the printing of official ballots for the May 12 national and local election. The distribution of the official ballots and other election paraphernalia have already started since April 21, 2025.
According to the poll body chief, there were no untoward incidents reported in the distribution of official ballots, automated counting machines (ACMs) and other election paraphernalia.
He added that the Comelec is “on track” in its preparation for the Monday polls.
