AboitizPower pledges P10M in scholarships for future engineers in Bataan

BALANGA, BATAAN — AboitizPower, through its subsidiaries GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin (GNPD), has forged a five-year partnership with the Provincial Government of Bataan to provide scholarships to engineering students.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was officially signed on April 25, 2025, in a ceremony held at the 7th floor of The Bunker, Capitol Compound in Balanga City.

Under this agreement, AboitizPower will allocate Php10 million over five years—equivalent to Php2 million annually starting this April—to support qualified engineering students from Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU)–Main Campus and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP)–Mariveles.

Leading the AboitizPower delegation at the signing was President and CEO Danel Aboitiz, accompanied by COO Celso Caballero, TBG-NL CEO Ronaldo Ramos, and other company executives. Key officials from the provincial government were also in attendance.

This collaboration is a major boost to the province’s “Iskolar ng Bataan” program, which aims to empower deserving students with access to higher education. The focus on engineering underscores the province’s commitment to strengthening its infrastructure and technological capabilities.

AboitizPower, one of the Philippines’ top energy providers, continues to demonstrate its dedication to nation-building—not just through reliable power generation, but also by investing in education and community development.
