A tragic stabbing incident in Antipolo City has left seven bakery workers dead, prompting a full-scale investigation by local police.
Gruesome Discovery at Local Bakery
In the early hours of Tuesday, authorities discovered the bodies of seven male individuals inside the J&B Malunggay Bakery located in Purok 1, Zone 8, Barangay Cupang. All victims were bakery employees and were believed to be asleep when they were attacked.
The Rizal Police Provincial Office confirmed that the victims were residing in the bakery premises and appeared to have been killed while sleeping.
Police Respond Swiftly
A report from a local barangay tanod (village watchman) was received around 7:40 AM. Officers from Police Community Precinct 1 (PCP 1), led by the acting chief of police and duty investigators, quickly arrived at the scene to verify the report and begin an investigation.
Suspect Apprehended Within Hours
By 9:00 AM, just over an hour after the crime was discovered, police apprehended the suspect at the Philippine National Police Headquarters Support Service in Antipolo.
He is currently in police custody and has undergone standard physical and medical examinations.
Investigation Ongoing
Authorities say the motive behind the crime is still under investigation. Police are also looking into the possibility of additional suspects and have urged the public to refrain from speculation as the inquiry unfolds.
“The Rizal Police Provincial Office, under the leadership of the Provincial Director, is steadfast in its commitment to seek justice for the victims and their families,” the official statement said.

Officials are appealing to the public to remain calm and allow law enforcement agencies to carry out a thorough and impartial investigation.
