ZAMBALES — Millennial senatorial candidate Camille Villar took her campaign trail to Zambales on Monday, visiting key areas including Castillejos, Iba, Olongapo, and other nearby towns.
During her visit, Villar met with various sectors—senior citizens, youth groups, and socio-civic organizations—highlighting the importance of strong collaboration between national and local governments to address the unique needs of each province.
Strong Endorsement from Zambales Leaders
Villar received a warm welcome from Zambales officials, including reelectionist Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr., Representative Jay Khonghun, Mayor Jeff Khonghun, Vice Mayor Christian Esposo, and other local leaders.
In a show of support, Governor Ebdane endorsed Villar’s senatorial bid, citing the Villar family’s consistent contributions to Zambales through infrastructure and agricultural projects.
“May mga kandidato tayo sa Senado. Pero dito, isa lang ang kandidata natin,” Ebdane declared, referring to Villar, currently the youngest senatorial aspirant at 40.
“Huwag ninyong kalimutan ang mga taong tumulong sa inyo,” he urged constituents, emphasizing the importance of choosing leaders who genuinely care for Filipinos.
Focus on Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Seniors
In a program called RICEUP held in Iba, Villar underlined the need to strengthen agribusiness training for farmers and fisherfolk to boost productivity and self-sufficiency.
“These trainings empower our agricultural workers and promote the values of sipag at tiyaga (hard work and perseverance) which are key to success,” she said.
Villar also met with senior citizens at an assembly in SMX Olongapo led by Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr., where she reiterated her commitment to promoting their welfare and supporting initiatives that improve their quality of life.
