What was meant to be a fun-filled beach outing turned tragic when a man drowned after the banana boat he was riding capsized at a resort in Dingalan Bay, Aurora.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 Director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Aurora police identified the victim as Avel, 30, a resident of Barangay Licong, Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.
According to the caretaker of Trinity Beach Resort, located in Barangay Butas na Bato, Dingalan, Avel and his friends were enjoying a banana boat ride when they were hit by a large wave, causing the inflatable to overturn and sending all riders into the water.
Avel’s companions noticed him floating unconscious and immediately pulled him from the water. Despite efforts to administer first aid at the scene, Avel remained unresponsive.
He was rushed to the Dingalan Community Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Dingalan police are currently conducting further investigation into the incident.
