The Quezon City Police District (QCPD), led by Police Col. Melencio Buslig Jr, reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring safe, fair, and transparent elections through the signing of a Solidarity Pact for the 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE) and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Parliamentary Elections (BARMM PE).
The event, held at QCPD Social Hinirang Hall, Camp Karingal, Quezon City, was graced by Atty. Lope T. Gayo, Jr., Election Officer of District 1, Quezon City Commission on Elections (COMELEC), alongside representatives from various government agencies and civil society organizations.
The ceremony began with an Interfaith Prayer, followed by the official Solidarity Pact Signing, symbolizing a collective commitment to uphold the rule of law, prevent election-related violence, and foster trust and cooperation among stakeholders.
In his address, Atty. Gayo, Jr. emphasized five key reminders for the upcoming elections:
- Focus on issues, not personalities.
- Reject violence, vote-buying, and fraud.
- Respect the people’s decision with humility.
- Recognize that wealth, fame, and power are temporary, but character and integrity endure.
- Embrace unity beyond religion, race, and status in the pursuit of democracy.
The event gathered key leaders and representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), COMELEC, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Education (DepEd), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Faith-Based Leaders, and other agencies. Their collective efforts aim to uphold electoral integrity, encourage civic participation, and ensure voter security.
Also in attendance were members of the QCPD Command Group, D Staff, Station Commanders, Chiefs of Offices/Units, Chiefs of National Support Units (NSUs), DESPO and ESPOs, DHQ Chief Clerks, and Chief NUPAS.
“Through this Solidarity Pact, we reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the 2025 elections by ensuring security, fairness, and transparency. With unity and cooperation, we will protect every voter’s right to a free and honest electoral process,” said Buslig.
