Manila-LGU launches 20-Story Pedro Gil Residences and State-of-the-Art ‘Super Health Center’

THE Manila City Government inaugurated the 20-story Pedro Gil Residences and a new public health center at A. Francisco Street corner Perlita Street in San Andres, Manila on Tuesday, January 14.

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan, alongside city officials, led the historic opening and handed over the keys to the first 20 families who will benefit from the housing project.

The Pedro Gil Residences, comprising 290 two-bedroom units, boasts modern amenities such as 125 parking slots, five elevators, a swimming pool, activity lawns, a function room, a fitness center, outdoor spaces, and a basketball court. Priority for the units will be given to local government employees, informal settlers, and tenants.

Mayor Lacuna announced plans to transition the housing project into a rent-to-own scheme to alleviate the burden of renting, especially during the rainy season. This marks the city’s fifth housing initiative, aimed at addressing the growing demand for clean and decent housing by maximizing the use of city-owned land.

The inauguration also included the opening of a new public health center located next to the residential complex. Described as a “super health center,” it offers free laboratory services, ultrasound, ECG, and other medical facilities, ensuring accessible healthcare for the residents.

Before its opening, the health center was thoroughly reviewed to meet the Department of Health’s standards, reflecting Mayor Lacuna’s commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of Manileños.

“This project is a testament to the city’s dedication to providing better housing and healthcare solutions for its citizens,” the mayor stated.
