Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police Brigadier General Jean Salvador Fajardo officially assumed command as the 35th Regional Director of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), succeeding Police Brigadier General Redrico A. Maranan, who has been reassigned as Regional Director of the Central Visayas Police.
A highly accomplished officer with deep roots in PRO3, PBGen Fajardo previously served as the Provincial Director of Pampanga Police and Intelligence Chief of the same regional office. Her extensive experience and familiarity with the region promise a seamless leadership transition and the continuity of critical initiatives.
PBGen Fajardo also makes history as the first female officer in the Philippine National Police (PNP) to hold the position of Regional Director nationwide. Her groundbreaking appointment underscores her exemplary leadership and numerous achievements in law enforcement.
A lawyer and a proud member of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class of 1996, PBGen Fajardo brings a wealth of expertise to her new role. Her distinguished career includes serving as the Deputy Director for Operations of the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group, becoming the first female PNP Spokesperson (and the longest-serving in this role), and leading as the first female Chief of the Public Information Office.
In her inaugural directives, PBGen Fajardo urged all provincial and city police directors under PRO3 to prioritize ensuring a safe and peaceful election period. She emphasized strict adherence to the PNP’s apolitical stance and high standards of professionalism.
“The PNP leadership and I have one request: let us do our work properly. We know that our personnel are naturally skilled, so we must simply do what is right and just. This is not my standard; this is the standard of the PNP. Either we do our job, or we don’t do it at all,” she stated.
PBGen Fajardo assured stakeholders that no immediate changes will be made to existing policies and programs within PRO3, pledging instead to sustain and enhance ongoing initiatives. She aims to build on the strong foundations laid by her predecessors while introducing her directives at the appropriate time.
Her historic appointment marks a new chapter for PRO3, inspiring both the police force and the community to work together toward greater success in public safety and security, particularly during the critical election period.
