THE Armed Forces of the Philippines-Eastern Mindanao Command (AFP-EastMinCom) were able to discover recently a huge arms cache by communist terrorist groups in Barangay Kasapa 2, La Paz, Agusan del Sur.
In a report from the AFP, they discovered the arms cache that contain various types of weapons with the help of rebel surrenderees who were former members of the disbanded Guerilla Front 3.
Recovered from the arms cache were 10 AK-47 rifles, seven M-16 rifles, an Ultimax Light Machine Gun, M-14 rifle, M-79 Grenade Launcher and magazines.
According to EastMinCom commander Lieutenant General Greg Almerol, the discovered arms cache is a clear indication of more members leaving communist terrorist groups because of fear due to continuous military offensives.
About two weeks ago, two more arms caches by communist terrorist groups were discovered in Davao de Oro, where nine high-powered firearms were confiscated.
