OPERATIVES of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested the suspect accused of shooting to death a barangay kagawad and injured two others.
In a press conference at Camp Karingal, QCPD Director Police BGen. Remus Medina identified the suspect as Jono Villarin.
According to Medina, Villarin was caught during a follow-up operation along Tumana St., Brgy. Bagong Silangan after a co-fraternity member and also a witness to the crime informed the police of his whereabouts out of pity to the victims.
It was learned that on March 17, the three barangay kagawads were patrolling their area when they were shot by the suspect.
The suspect apparently got mad at the three for accosting him because of alleged basketball game fixing.
Bystanders still managed to bring the victim Anabelle Espinosa to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The two injured, Seferino Laxamana and Merlita Cabagas, are still recuperating in the hospital.
