NOW that community restrictions are slowly easing up and many areas in the country already at Alert Level 1, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said it plans to finish its “Oplan Double Barrel” campaign against illegal drugs in communities.
The PNP formally launched today the double barrel finale version or what it calls “Oplan ADORE” or Anti-Illegal Drugs Operation through Reinforcement Education at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City together with other government agencies such as the Department of Health (DOH), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
PNP chief PGen. Dionardo Carlos explained that the dobol barrel finale version is considered a wholistic approach to strengthen the campaign against illegal drugs in communities through the Barangay Drug Abuse Council, in collaboration with the police and other government agencies.
According to DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III, who was the guest of honor during the PNP program, the campaign against the use of illegal substances and other illegal drugs will be successful through proper care, rehabilitation with the help of institutions and actions by the community and families.
The DOH, he said, will definitely be a big help in providing inputs and other information on how to combat illegal drugs.
