IN an apparent slip of the tongue, President Rodrigo Duterte, in his last State of the Nation Address, mistakenly addressed Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rose to go after cops who illegally import AK-47 guns in the country.
The President may have forgotten that the former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief is not the chief of police anymore but already a senator of the land.
The President bluntly ordered Senator dela Rosa to investigate — or shoot if necessary — a police official he claimed was behind the importation of AK-47 guns.
“He imported AK-47 in the country, providing security in businesses…a police colonel. Walang nangyari, maraming namatay dahil sa armas. If you see them, shoot them dead. If they charge me before ICC, what is another one?” said Duterte, as he shrugged off the International Criminal Court in The Hague which is probing his drug war casualties.
