TAKING cue from the admission of a top Malacañang official, there seems to be more reasons to be alarmed over what appears to be a proliferation of a lucrative trade of fake COVID-19 vaccines.
No less than Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Secretary Salvador Panelo urged the public to be cautious on the proliferation of fake vaccines.
“If there is fake news, there is fake vaccine, too. Do not buy that,” said Panelo in his daily program aired online, where he hinted at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as the source of the news.
According to Panelo, the FDA is already on a heightened alert following reports of open trading of coronavirus vaccines in other countries.
“Everybody wants to be vaccinated and you know scoundrels if they see an opportunity, they will take it,” added Panelo.
The FDA earlier issued an advisory restricting sale of COVID-19 vaccines in the country. The same advisory said that vaccines being advertised for sale online or websites are not legitimate.
