All systems go for Holy Week 2021

Despite the prevailing Enhanced Community Quarantine, it will be all systems go for the observance of Holy Week 2021, according to the Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South).

A subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), MPT South said in a statement that it will be activating its “Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko (SMSK) program” during the Holy Week to reinforce 24/7 assistance to motorists taking its toll road networks such as the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), Cavitex C-5 Link Flyover, and the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) during the Holy Week.

From March 28 to April 5, 2021, under the SMSK program, CAVITEX Customer Service Centers (Northbound and Southbound), C-5 Link Flyover Customer Service Station (Westbound), and CALAX Greenfield (Mamplasan) Customer Service Station will be open 24/7 for motorists’ concerns, as well as Easytrip RFID installation and reloading. 

On the other hand, emergency medical services (EMS) will also be on-site 24/7 during the said period. Moreover, on March 31 6:00AM until April 5, 6:00AM, free towing service for Class 1 vehicles will be provided (to the nearest exit only).

During this ECQ, we continue to remain in 24/7 service for our motorists for their essential travels this Holy Week. Safety is our priority, and so our team will continue to be on standby on these dates to maintain ease of passage of goods and motorists traversing our expressways. Also, we continue to remind our motorists to practice minimum health protocols such as wearing a mask inside their vehicles to avoid COVID-19 transmission,” said Roberto Bontia, President and General Manager of MPT South.  

Bontia said 78 traffic operations personnel will be deployed by the company to ensure 24/7 operations in its toll roads. It will also increase the RFID assist and ambulant tellers on cash lanes to manage the vehicular queue in toll plazas.

Aside from the CALAX and CAVITEX network of toll roads, MPTC’s domestic portfolio includes the concessions for the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), the NLEX Connector Road, the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) and the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) in Cebu.
