93.68. percent of Quezon City Jail PDL now Vaccinated, 903 Receives 1st Booster Shot vs Covid19

A total of 3,307 or 93.68 % of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) of the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory (QCJMD) are now vaccinated against COVID19 to include 223 or 6.31% newly committed PDL administered with Janssen Vaccine as a single primary vaccination dose, while 903 others or 25.6% were given Astrazeneca Vaccine for their booster shots.

Under the QC Protektodo Vaccination Program of QC LGU Health Department in partnership with the QCJMD Health Service Unit and the BJMP-NCR Regional Health Service Division, the PDL were able to receive their 1st Covid19 Vaccine Roll-out at Quezon City Jail on October 2021 with Sinovac and Astrazeneca as primary and secondary shots.

According to Jail Supt. Michelle Ng-Bonto, in order to complete the vaccination requirements, PDL who were released from the jail were made to report back to the facility in order to complete the required Covid 19 shots.

Meanwhile, BJMP Jail Director General Allan Iral said that the BJMP has started the covid19 vaccination roll-out in April 2021 in order to ensure the protection and right to health of the PDL as guaranteed under Sec 15, Article 2 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution.

Iral also emphasized that the BJMP remains committed in ensuring that all PDL under their care are not just vaccinated but are also receiving the needed medical support. As of this writing, the BJMP was able to vaccinate 122, 524 or 95.23% of its nationwide PDL population of 128,660.
