CAVITE Rep. Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla confirmed today that he accepted the offer of presumptive President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. to become the new secretary of the Department of Justice (DOJ).

According to Remulla, he said the country’s justice system has many ills that need to be reformed today with the presumptive president.

“I didn’t apply for the job, but what he really wanted to happen, as he said, ‘we cannot afford to fail. We have to do a good job.’ He has no other intention but to do the best job possible for the people. That is what we have been saying, that it’s a very rare chance given by the people to serve so the opportunity is there to do it and do it the best way possible,” says Remulla.

Remulla won again as congressman in his district and because he accepted the position of DOJ chief, there is now a need to hold a special election or to appoint a caretaker in his district.

It can be recalled that the camp of the presumptive president confirmed the choice of former Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Benhur Abalos as the new Secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), while presumptive Vice President Sara Duterte will lead the Department of Education as its new chief.
