TWO individuals involved in selling illegal drugs through social media, and previously arrested for the same offense were back in jail after being caught again by police in a buy-bust operation in Malabon City Sunday night.
According to Northern Police District (NPD) Director Police Brig. General Ronaldo Ylagan, suspects were identified as Michael Mendoza, 44 of Phase 2, Blk. 2 Lot 8 Pampano St. and Harold Gonzales, 29 of Arayat St. Cubao, Quezon city.
They were nabbed by agents of District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) after selling P28,000 worth of high-grade dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops in an online transactions with a narcotic agent.
Ylagan said that Mendoza was jailed on October 12, 2017 for selling illegal drugs and was released on December 12, 2018 while Gonzales was arrested in Quezon city on August 15, 2019 also for the same offenses.
At around 11:30 pm on Sunday, the DDEU operatives conducted a buy-bust operation against the suspects in the aforementioned place and yielded 1 kilogram of marijuana with estimated value of P120,000.
