Another freak accident happened in a construction site killing two workers and injuring another in Calamba Street corner Sto. Domingo Street, Barangay Sto. Domingo in Quezon City on Monday morning.
The fatalities were identified as Arnel Esquitado y Kapistrano and Rex Dela Rosa y Laorio, both of legal age and residents of Bulacan while Richard Gregorio who sustained injuries to his body was admitted in East Avenue Medical Center.
According to Police investigator Corporal Myra Evangelista of the Masambong Police station, the incident took place at the construction site of the said address at around 10:00 a.m.
The victims were employed as construction workers and during the installing of a steel beam while pulling a chin-block at about 12 meters high when the metal boom suddenly derailed and fell to the ground hitting the victims.
The authorities are now coordinating with the construction company on how they will compensate the families of the victims.
