2 ASG members involved in kidnappings in Sulu arrested in Pasay City

AGENTS of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested two members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) during an operation in Pasay City.

Presented to the press by NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin and PIO chief Jick Suarez, the suspects Jamar Iba Y Garsula alias ‘Bas’ and Raden Jamil ‘Y’ Janing alias Tamiya both members of the ASG.

According to NBI Director Eric Distor, the two ASGs were arrested by NBI Counter-Terrorism Division personnel in an operation after learning from an intelligence gathering that Bas was allegedly seen in Pasay City.

It was learned that the two were both involved in Jehovah’s Witness Kidnapping in 2002 in Patikul, Sulu and were included in the court-issued Order of Arrest.

Bas served as the perimeter guard at the height of the ASG kidnapping.
