INANUNSIYO ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) na mangangailangan ang ahensiya ng 195 na mga Immigration Officers upang ipangdagdag sa bilang ng mga personnel na nakatalaga sa international airport at seaport sa buong bansa.
Sinabi ni BI Commissioner Jaime Morente na bukas na ang aplikasyon para sa Immigration Officer I sa pamamagitan ng kanilang website.
“We are filling out vacant positions to maximize the personnel of the BI, in anticipation of new international airports to open in the next few years, as well as for deployment to our Border Crossing Stations,” ayon kay Morente.
“We aim to attract fresh graduates that wish to start a career in public service. This is your time to serve the country by being an immigration officer,” dagag pa nito.
Ang iba pang bakanteng posisyon ay isang Attorney 4, at isang Attorney 3 para sa kawanian.
Ayon kay Morente, ang isang Immigration Officer 1 na may salary Garde level 11 ay kinakailangang graduate ng apat na taon na kurso at pumasa sa Career Service Professional Second Level Eligibility mula sa civil service.
Ayon pa kay Morente, kapag pumasa ang isang aplikante, kinakailangan itong sumailalim sa Center for Training and Research (CTR) bago i-deploy.
“We are looking at conducting a virtual training for the new immigration officers,” dagdag pa ni Morente.
Noong nakaraan, ang mga bagong immigration officers ay tumira sa Philippine Immigration Academy sa Clark, Pampanga kung saan sumasailalim sila sa dalawang buwan na training sa immigration laws and procedures bago sila dalhin sa iba’t-ibang tanggapan bilang on-the-job trainees.
Pero dahil sa pandemya, plano ng BI na isagawa na lamang ito sa pamamagitan ng virtual training .
“Despite this limitation, we will make sure that hired immigration officers pass the course first before being deployed,” saad ni Morente. “We want to hire the cream of the crop, to professionalize the Bureau,” ayon pa kay Morente.
