A former agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) who is wanted for two murder cases was nabbed by the combined forces of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and PRO-IV-A in Muntinlupa City yesterday.
According to P/Brig. Gen. Danilo Macerin, QCPD director, the suspect, Saul Hermano, 56, a former NBI Special Investigator Agent 3, who went Absent Withouth Leave (AWOL) in 2009, of Barangay San Roque, Marikina City, was arrested around 5:00 pm last December 9, 2020 along Chestnut Drive, Bgy. Pasong Tamo, Quezon City, by a team from the QCPD-Crime Investigation Section (CIS) under P/Major Elmer Monsalve.
Records revealed that Hermano is listed as the No.1 Most Wanted Person Regional Level in 2015 for two counts of murder without bail and has an outstanding warrant of arrest issued by Muntinlupa City Branch 256 Acting Presiding Judge Leandro Catalo.
The police are still waiting for the commitment order from the court for the jail transfer of accused Hermano.
Macerin was overjoyed and praised the police operatives for the successful arrest of Hermano.
Hermano was apparently told by former NBI director Nestor Mantaring to just surrender to the police and face the charges against him for the shooting and death of victims Noly Dimaapi and Edmundo “Ding” Ullega last November 16, 2009 at around 9:45 pm in front of the house of Dimaapi in Katarungan Village 2, Muntinlupa City.
It was in November 2009 when Hermano apparently got mad and felt insulted when the victims called him “andres de saya” or scared of his wife.
“The arrest of the suspect is the result of the community’s support to QCPD’s relentless crime prevention and solution despite the challenge of the pandemic in our city in line with the directive of Acting Regional Director NCRPO P/BGen.Vicente Danao Jr,” says Macerin.
