Ulysses now a Typhoon, signal no. 3 up in Metro Manila, Luzon region

Metro Manila now under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) number 3 as severe tropical storm Ulysses (international name: Vamco) intensified on Wednesday.  

According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical, Astronomical Space Administration (Pagasa), tropical storm Ulysses is moving at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour in the westward direction.

It has wind speeds of 125 kilometers per hour and gusts of 155 kilometers per hour.

The typhoon was last seen 100 kilometers north of Virac, Catanduanes or 350 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon at 10:00 a.m.

Besides the National Capital Region (NCR), the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 is now hoisted over the following Areas:

– Southern portion of Aurora (Dipaculao, Baler, Maria Aurora, San Luis, Dingalan)

– Southern portion of Nueva Ecija (Bongabon, Gabaldon, General Tinio, Laur, Palayan City, Cabanatuan City, Santa Rosa, Peñaranda, Gapan City, San Leonardo, Jaen, San Antonio, San Isidro, Cabiao)
