MORE than P10 million worth of shabu were seized in two successful buy-bust operations conducted separately in two provinces, one in Cavite and one in Cebu City.
Two drug suspects were arrested by Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Cavite on Friday afternoon.
Seized from the suspects were more or less 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu with an estimated worth of P3.4 million pesos, one Mitsubishi Adventure, and one (1) analog cellular phone.
Arrested were Jeric Ramirez alias “Jam” and Analyn Aguirre alias “Lovely,’ both members of a drug syndicate distributing illegal drugs particularly “shabu” in Region 4A, National Capital Region and other nearby provinces.
Citing the report of Police Brig. Gen. Remus Medina, Director PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG), the operation was conducted at around 4:30pm at McDonald’s Parking Lot along Daang Hari, Imus, Cavite by joint elements of PNP-DEG Special Operations Unit NCR led by Police Lt. Col. Glen Gonzales, PDEA 4A, Imus City Police Station, and Cavite Police Provincial Office.
Meanwhile, police operatives of the PRO-Central Visayas Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) were able to arrest a drug suspect identified only as “Toro,” an alleged distributor of illegal drugs in various barangays, in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Tejero, Cebu City.
This resulted in the seizure of P7.1-million worth of shabu.
According to reports reaching the office of PNP Chief PGen. Guillermo Eleazar, the suspect’s contact for illegal drug transactions is a detainee in one of the jails in Cebu province.
“We are verifying this information and we will further investigate the scope of his illegal drug activities,” PGen Eleazar said.
PGen. Eleazar commended the operatives involved in the successful Cavite and Cebu operations, which netted the confiscation of more than P10 million in illegal drugs.

Sa pamamagitan ng mas pinalakas at pinagtibay na ugnayan ng ating komunidad at ating kapulisan, nakakasiguro akong kaya nating mapagtagumpayang sugpuin at wakasan ang paglaganap ng ilegal na droga sa buong bansa,” PNP Chief Eleazar said.
