Three drug group members arrested in buy bust

LAGUNA–Three members of a drug group were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Biñan City, Laguna.

Seized from the two suspects was P340,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Police Provincial Director PCol. Serafin  Petalio II, in his report to CALABARZON Regional Director PBGen. Felipe Natividad, said the suspects were identified as Renier Boregas Jr., 38, Maria Christina Guico, 48, and Julieth Palang,46, all of San Pedro City, Laguna 

In a joint operation by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Biñan City police on Thursday in Brgy. Canlalay, Biñan City, a police operative acted as poseur-buyer. The operative was able to buy a medium-sized transparent plastic sachet that contained suspected shabu worth P 8,000.

After the transaction, the suspects were immediately arrested. Confiscated from them were 10 sachets that contained suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P340,000, a black leather pouch, a P1,000.00 bill, and scanned copies of P1,000 bills of boodle money used during the buy-bust operation.

The three suspects reportedly are members of the dreaded Villaneuva drug group operating in the first district of Laguna, and are also connected to the Camerino drug group operating within Dasmariñas City, Cavite, Muntinlupa, and San Pedro City, Laguna.

Boregas is also listed as a high–value police target.

The arrested suspects will be presented at the Office of the City Prosecutor in Biñan City, Laguna for inquest proceedings and will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (R.A. 9165)
