The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has formed its own “Task Force” to investigate allegations of corruption in the agency.
This came after President Rodrigo Duterte made statements on his public announcements last night, the rampant corruption in DPWH, especially at the “lower levels” of the department.
Signed by Sec. Mark Villar the Department Order no. 101 series of 2020 which states the development of the “Task Force Against Graft and Corruption” or TAG.
It is also in line with President Duterte’s policy against government agencies and officials or personnel involved in the issue of corruption.
Assistant Sec. Mel John Versoza will be the Task Force’s chairperson while Director Gliricidia Tumaliuan-Ali will be his vice-chairperson.
The Task Force members are Director Michael Villafranca, Andro Santiago and Atty. Ken Edward Sta. Rita.
The Task Force will investigate anomalies that may involve officers and employees, based on valid complaints or complaints.
After an in-depth investigation, the Task Force will submit a recommendation to the Office of the Secretary through a resolution stating the corresponding action against the alleged corrupt official or DPWH staff.
Amid allegations of corruption in the DPWH, Duterte had earlier acquitted Villar.
