AS what many expected, though not exactly the position majority had hoped for, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio files for the vice presidency for next year’s national and local polls.
Atty. Reynold Munsayac, Mayor Sara’s authorized representative, filed the substitution on her behalf.
She replaces Lyle Uy, who was Lakas-CMD’s candidate for the vice presidency.
Mayor Sara earlier resigned her post of chairperson from regional political party Hugpong ng Pagbabago, the party she founded, and jumped to Lakas-CMD.
Meanwhile, in a resolution, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas formally adopted Mayor Sara as the party’s vice presidential candidate, pushing for the Davao City mayor to be the running mate of their presidential bet, Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
As of this time, Lakas-CMD, Mayor Sara’s new party, has no comment yet on this but will release an official statement today.
Liloan, Cebu Mayor Christina Frasco, Mayor Sara’s spokesperson, said that the mayor will also issue an official statement.
