PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. tasked the Department of Health (DOH) to review the Alert Level System.
DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergerrie said they presented this to the Chief Executive and made comments about it.
She said the president reviewed carefully the metrics and gave them guidance.
Under the Alert Level System being implemented, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases or IATF makes an announcement as to what Alert Level will be imposed in a city, province or a particular area.
But Vergeire said based on the directive given by President Marcos, the system should be reviewed again to make the government take more appropriate steps on the current situation.
She said they did not discuss during the meeting if the National Task Force Against COVID-19 and the iATF will be retained or replaced.
According to Vergeire, it would be better for the Office of the President be the one to provide details and make the announcement on this.
She said they focused more about broadening vaccination coverage, especially the booster shot.
