AUTHORITIES continuously retrieving corpses in various parts of Luzon extremely devastated by widespread flooding cause by the onslaught of typhoon Ulysses.
As of 9 a.m. Sunday, November 15, 2020, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRM) has reported that the total number of recovered bodies reached to 67.
NDRRMC Spokesperson Mark Cashean Timbal said the largest number of cadavers retrieved were from Region II with 22 deaths; next to Region 4A or Calabarzon area (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) with a total of 17 deaths; next is Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) with 10 deaths; Region V with 8; next is the National Capital Region (NCR) with 8 while 2 in Region III.
NDRRMC also has the number of reported injured with a total of 21; Region II: 3, Calabarzon with 9, Region V with 8, and CAR, 1.
The total number of missing persons are 12; 1 in Calabarzon, 8 in Region V and 3 in NCR.
While the cost of damages in agricultural pegged at P1.18 Billion, and a total amount of P469.7 million in infrastructures.
The disaster agency also reported that a total number of 25,852 houses have been destroyed or damaged by widespread flooding.
But President Rodrigo Duterte announced at his cabinet meeting today in Tuguegarao City that the death toll in the onslaught of typhoon Ulysses is at 69.
Duterte went to Cagayan to personally assessed the situations in the area.
