The Quezon City Police District (QCPD), under the leadership of PCOL Melecio Buslig Jr., is actively investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a pedestrian along Quirino Highway corner Pagkabuhay Road, Brgy. Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred around 1:50 AM on March 25, 2025, when an unidentified driver of a white sedan (with an unknown plate number) struck Den Adrian John Viaje, a 29-year-old call center agent, who was crossing the roadway. Instead of stopping to render aid, the driver fled the scene, failing to report the incident to authorities.
The victim sustained severe injuries and was immediately transported by the Barangay Bagbag Ambulance to Novaliches District Hospital. He was later transferred to Quezon City General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by his attending physician.
To identify and apprehend the suspect, authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
“I have directed Novaliches Police Station 4 and the District Traffic Enforcement Unit (DTEU) to conduct a thorough investigation to track down the driver responsible for this incident. I also urge anyone who may have witnessed the accident to come forward and report to the nearest police station. Your cooperation is vital in ensuring justice for the victim and holding the suspect accountable,” said PCOL Buslig Jr.
Authorities are appealing to the public for any relevant information that may aid in the investigation.
