QCPD hosts first Inter-Agency Coordination Meeting for SONA 2025 security preparations

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) hosted the 1st Inter-Agency Coordinating Conference in preparation for the 2025 State of the Nation Address (SONA) of His Excellency President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, Jr., on July 3, 2025, at 1:30 PM, held at the QCPD Hinirang Social Hall, Camp Karingal, Quezon City. The meeting was presided over by PMGEN Anthony Aberin, Regional Director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

The conference served as a platform to discuss comprehensive threat assessments, security and safety measures, deployment strategies, and traffic management plans to ensure the peaceful, orderly, and secure conduct of SONA 2025.

In his welcome remarks, QCPD Director PCOL Redrico Maranan Silvio emphasized the critical role of law enforcement and government agencies in upholding public safety during mass mobilizations and public gatherings:

“Sa harap ng inaasahang mga kilos-protesta, pagtitipon, at iba pang aktibidad kaugnay ng SONA 2025, mahalaga ang ating papel sa pagtitiyak na mananatili ang kapayapaan at kaayusan. Hindi natin kinakalaban ang karapatang magpahayag bagkus ay sinisiguro natin na ito’y maisasakatuparan sa paraang ligtas, maayos, at may paggalang sa batas.”

The meeting was attended by District Directors of NCRPO, their Regional Staff, and key representatives from several national and local agencies, including:

This coordination marks a strong step toward ensuring that the President’s annual address is conducted with the highest standards of public safety, respect for constitutional rights, and operational efficiency.
