THE proclamation of Rep. Benny Abante as the winning congressman of the 6th District of Manila will proceed, as ordered by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
The poll body released the Certificate of Finality and Entry of Judgment on Monday that confirms the proclamation of Abante as the winner in the 6th District of Manila during the 2025 midterm elections.
At the same time, the Comelec convened the City Board of Canvassers of Manila to proclaim Abante, a reelectionist congressman.
This was after the resolution was approved that invalidated the proclamation of Joey Uy, who received the most votes in the May 12 elections.
Uy’s victory was revoked due to the issue regarding his citizenship.
