The Quezon City Police District (QCPD), under the leadership of PCOL Melecio M. Buslig, Jr., launched the National Women’s Month Celebration 2025 during the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at Camp Karingal, Quezon City, hosted by Kamuning Police Station (PS 10) under PLTCOL Leonie Ann Dela Cruz.
With the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” the event was graced by Hon. TShaine B. Taguinod-Maggay, Presiding Judge of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC), Tabuk City, Kalinga.
A key highlight of the celebration was the recognition of 13 outstanding female personnel for their courage, ingenuity, and dedication to duty. The awardees were:

In her welcome remarks, PLTCOL May Genio highlighted the evolving role of women in society: “With this year’s theme, we honor the strength, resilience, and achievements of women. No longer are women expected to sit still and look pretty; they are here to lead empires, break barriers, and shape the future.”
Meanwhile, Hon. Maggay emphasized the invaluable contributions of women across sectors: “Ngayong Women’s Month, ipagdiwang natin ang tagumpay ng kababaihan. Sa inyong pagpupunyagi, hindi lang kayo ang aangat—kundi pati ang buong Pilipinas. At sa ating kapulisan, babae man o lalaki, thank you for your selfless service. May you continue to find strength and motivation to uphold your duty as protectors of our communities.”
PCOL Buslig, Jr. expressed gratitude to Hon. Maggay for her inspiring words and commended the unwavering dedication of QCPD’s female personnel. “Our women in uniform are leaders in peace, security, and community service. Their strength and dedication inspire us all. This National Women’s Month, let us continue empowering and recognizing them, ensuring equal opportunities for all.”
