The Senate confirmed today that the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has transmitted to them the executive department’s proposed P4.506-trillion national budget for next year.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III said that, “[The DBM] submitted the NEP (National Expenditure Program) yesterday.”
The budget documents were also sent by DBM to the House of Representatives.
The P4.506-trillion proposed national budget for 2021 is 9.9 percent higher than the 2020 budget.
In relation to this, Senator Sonny Angara, chair of the Senate finance committee, issued a statement that he sees a shift in budget priorities next year considering the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic to the country.
