THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has deleted from its database all soft copies or data files of ballot faces used during the May 12, 2025 elections.
The poll body stated that among those deleted from their server were official ballot voter’s information sheet, those used for field testing and sealing, including ballots that were reprinted so that it won’t be of use anymore in any manner.
This procedure involves the last part of the ballot printing process to ensure transparency, which is done usually after every election, according to Rey Bulay, the Commissioner-in-charge of the Committee on Ballot Printing.
“Bilang pagsunod ang commission en banc nag-approve po ng prosesong ito noong May 27, 2025 in accordance with the Data Protection Act ito po ang aming pagsunod at pag comply,” sabi ni Bulay.
The Comelec adds that the destruction of hard copies of ballots used during the election will continue so that these ballots will no longer be of use.
