THE Philippine National Police (PNP) leadership revealed a plan by the Hamas group to sow terror in the country.
This after they learned that the group is actively recruiting Filipinos among local terrorist groups, who will be used in their plan to terrorize Westerners and Middle Eastern nationals currently in the Philippines in exchange for huge sums of money.
According to PBGen. Neil Alinsangan of the PNP Intelligence Group, they discovered the plan from a local contact inHamas.
A certain Fares Al Shikli alias Bashir is reportedly the one recruiting Filipinos to join their group.
“Bashir” is the head of Hamas’s Foreign Liaison Section. He is also under the Interpol Red Notice list for his involvement in terrorism.
Recently, Bashir conducted a meeting in Malaysia with other Filipinos, where they apparently discussed how to attack Israelis, conducting protest actions at the Israeli Embassy in the Philippines, and the distribution of propaganda materials against Israel.
It was learned that Hamas is a terrorist group that is active along the Gaza Strip and West Bank of Palestine.
In January 2018, the group attempted to conduct activities in the country but was thwarted after the arrest of a chemist who was reportedly making bombs in Pampanga.
Alinsangan warned terrorist groups that they will not be successful in their plans in the country because they are being watched by the PNP and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
