THE Philippine National Police (PNP) reminded the public to keep Halloween-related gatherings purely a family affair

As parties are expected during the holiday season, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police General Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar reminded the public that gatherings are allowed only if it is within the family’s bubble.

The Department of Health (DOH) advised families, those who are planning to hold Halloween parties and trick-or-treat activities to strictly observe health protocols. These celebrations, the DOH said, should only be shared with family as inviting people from outside the “family bubble” may still be risky for COVID-19 transmission.

The PNP knows this tradition before Undas for the kids, and some may be encouraged to go out since the number of COVID-19 cases in the country continue to go down,” said PGen Eleazar.

That is why we suggest to cancel any plans or at least make it limited and confined within our homes because a trick-or-treat can become trip-and-treatment to the hospital if kids contract the virus especially that they haven’t been vaccinated yet,” he stressed.

Further, PGen Eleazar also warned establishments to follow the protocols or else their businesses could be ordered closed.

This, after a bar in Makati City was raided by local officials after receiving information that health protocols, including the curfew hours, were being disregarded. Police found that the allowed capacity inside the bar was not followed and that it had no permit.

More or less 200 individuals were issued with citation tickets due to their violations.

Metro Manila is currently under Alert Level 3 until October 31.

The government said it could further be eased to Alert Level 2 if the number of COVID-19 infections will continue to decrease.

On the part of the PNP, we will continuously make our presence felt in the communities to ensure that minimum public health safety is observed and eventually lead to further reduction of COVID cases in the country,” PGen Eleazar said.
