Phil Navy’s Davao del Sur delivers tons of PPE’s to Visayas frontliners

Philippine Navy (PN) Tarlac-class landing dock, BRP Davao Del Sur (LD602), skippered by Navy Capt. Homer Gonzalez departed Pier 15 at Manila harbor today, October 3 in a mission of delivering more than 3,000 boxes of personal protective equipment’s (PPE’s) to several cities in the Visayas region.

The Said undertaking was upon the coordination made by Ilo-ilo City local government and NDRRMC of Ilo-ilo and Bacolod with the Philippine Navy.

In his statement, Capt. Gonzalez emphasized that, “the transport of 58,000 sets of PPEs to different parts of the country is a manifestation of the continuing commitment of the Philippine Navy to do its part in curbing the COVID-19 Pandemic.”

This undertaking highlights the crucial capability of the PN to provide much needed logistical support and another manifestation of its full support to the government by devoting personnel, assets and resources to the resolve of defeating this pandemic.
