Phil Navy intercepts bulks of smuggled cigarettes in Zamboanga

Zamboanga Del Sur – Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM) personnel onboard BRP Jose Loor Sr intercepted one fishing vessel loaded with smuggled cigarettes with market value of P10.8-million at the vicinity off the waters of Tabina, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Navy personnel conducted intensified maritime patrol in the vicinity seawaters off Zamboanga Del Sur leading to the successful interception of FB Normay.

The said fishing boat was loaded with 307 boxes and 94 reams assorted smuggled cigarettes worth P10,810,800.

The said vessel came from Kalingalang Caluang, Sulu and was enroute to Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur when they apprehended by patrolling navy.

The fishing boat was escorted to Pagadian City pier along with its seven crew members and the immediate turned over of the said contrabands to the Bureau of Customs (BoC).
