A PEDICAB driver in Navotas City was killed after he was mugged and stabbed several times in front of his live-in partner and children the other night.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at the Navotas City Hospital due to numerous stab wounds.
The victim was identified as Gaylord Libre, 31 years old, from 71 Goldrock St., Brgy. San Roque.
\In a report by PSSgt. Karl Benzon Dela Cruz to Navotas police chief Col. Dexter Ollaging, around 10:30 pm, the victim was parking his pedicab along Wawa St., Brgy Tangos South, accompanied by Joan Silvestre, 37 years old and the victim’s live-in partner, and their two children when the suspects, identified only as “Jeff Jeff Da Cruz” and “Lorenzo Dela Cruz” approached them.
For still unknown reasons, Jeff Jeff suddenly hit the victim with a golf club, followed by Lorenzo who stabbed Libre several times in the body.
The suspects immediately fled in an unknown direction after the incident, while the victim was rushed to the hospital but did not reach the hospital alive.
Col. Ollaging already ordered a manhunt operation against the suspects while the motive for the incident was still being determined at this time.
