PBA referee subjected to quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19

A Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) referee has been placed under quarantine in Athletes village in New Clark City in Pampanga on suspicion of being infected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

This was revealed by PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial, saying the referee is ‘asymptomatic’ and based on his recent tests came negative.

But the pro basketball management did not mention the exact reason why the referee was considered a suspected COVID-19 case.

According to their report, the referee has already tested positive in the previous tests.

Those who met the league official were also separated and now undergoing tests for infection.

Activities within the PBA bubble like swimming, jogging and gym are also suspended to allow the disinfection within the vicinity.

Games will continue as health and safety protocols continue to be strictly enforced.

Last October 11 when the PBA bubble started where all players and officials were designated at a hotel in Clark, Pampanga and were all scrutinized with strict health protocols procedures.
