The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) games is under suspension.
This follows after its two staff were reportedly infected by coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.
In their statement on Friday, October 30, the suspension came in response to the recommendation of the Inter Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID) technical working group and the Department of Health (DOH) Advisory Group of Experts.
It aims to ensure the integrity and safety of the PBA Bubble.
According to the PBA management, the suspension took effect today, Oct. 30 until new protocols are laid out to be proposed by the IATF and the DOH.
“The league is postponing the games starting TODAY, October 30 until the new protocols proposed by the IATF and DOH are out of place,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the PBA thanked the IATF, DOH and Clark Development Corporation (CDC) for their continuing support of the league.
