THE local government of Pandi, Bulacan will give cash incentive of P2,000 each for senior citizens who have been vaccinated of Covid-19 vaccine that has started the inoculation program for seniors on Thursday.
This initiative of program of Mayor Enrico Roque aims to encourage the elderlies to be vaccinated for their own protection against the dreaded infectious disease.
“Our goal is for the safety and health of our dear grandparents as well as to continuously provide financial assistance for their needs.
This is a big help for our senior citizens, especially during this time of pandemic,” the mayor said.
The said P2,000 financial assisstance for each vaccinated senior citizen came from the town’s local funds where they will receive it after their second dose.
“Patunay dito na sa kabila ng masungit na panahon dulot ng bagyong Dante ay dumagsa ang mga senior citizen para magpabakuna. Dagsa rin ang mga senior na ngayo’y nagpapalista sa kani-kanilang barangay,” Roque said.
The total number of registered senior citizens in the town is 8,600 wherein 2,750 of them have already been vaccinated.
“Hindi tayo nakakasiguro kung kailan matatapos ang pandemiyang ito kaya naman gusto ko na ligtas ang bawat lolo at lola sa bayan ng Pandi laban sa Covid at isusunod natin ang bawat Pandienyo na mabakunahan sa isasagawa nating mass vaccination,” Roque said.
