ANOTHER top government official was caught again on cam violating health protocols imposed by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, while joining a festive gathering in Cebu City.
Photos uploaded on social media had presidential spokesperson Harry Roque clad in a summer outfit, joining a huge crowd at the Bantayan Escapade in Madridejos, Bantayan Island in Cebu.
Roque was attending “Suroy-Suroy Sugbo” Festival in honor of its patron saint, Sta. Fe.
Interestingly, it was Roque who said in a Malacañang press briefing that heavy penalty awaits those who’d be violating the community quarantine protocols, which include restriction on gathering, observance of physical distancing and the mandatory use of facemasks and face shields.
“Napakabigat ng parusa sa mga pasaway at di nagso-social distancing. Ang tawag po sa parusang yan: kamatayan.Kung hindi kamatayan, matinding pagkakasakit. Kasama na rin po diyan ang gastos para magpagaling… kung kaya pang gumaling. Napakatindi ng pinapataw ng batas ng kalikasan,” Roque was quoted as saying in a press briefing last June 30
Two weeks ago, Roque was also caught on cam while rendering a song in a videoke bar in Baguio City while typhoon Ulysses was unleashing its fury in Cagayan province.
