Pagasa issued “Red Alert” as TD “Quinta” to hit Bicol, Visayas region

A Low-Pressure Area (LPA) was spotted over the Philippine Sea at a distance of 955-kilometer East of Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical, Astronomical Services Administration (PagAsa) said.

Based on their weather advisory no. 1, as of 10:00 this Friday morning, this LPA may develop into tropical depression and will be named “Quinta” within 12 to 24 hours.

Pagasa stressed that it is likely to further intensify as it moves generally northwestward towards Bicol Region-Eastern Visayas area.

The government weather bureau has advice the public and all disaster risk reduction and management offices to take appropriate measures as tropical depression “Quinta” is expected to make landfall in Bicol and Visayas region.
